Barcelona star Ronald Araújo is all set to take his talents to the Premier League for the duration of the 2026/27 campaign. This comes after the Camp Nou brass, in something of a bolt from the blue, sanctioned a loan deal with their counterparts at Liverpool.
The information comes courtesy of market insider Fabrizio Romano, who first announced:
‘Liverpool agree loan deal to sign Ronald Araujo from Barcelona. Verbal agreement club to club with Barça now approved by director Deco.’
Further details of the agreement between the parties, meanwhile, have since continued to trickle in.
Liverpool’s deal for Araújo will include an option to be made permanent in the summer of 2027, for a fee which has yet to be confirmed.
The finishing touches are expected to be put on the agreement at some point on Saturday, meaning the defender will not be part of Barcelona’s matchday squad to face Nottingham Forest.
An official announcement will then arrive in short order, likely before the weekend is out.
