La Liga outfit Deportivo Alavés have this week announced an injury setback in the club’s first-team ranks.
This comes amid confirmation of a fitness setback suffered by defensive star Jon Pacheco.
Stopper Pacheco for his part featured from the off once more over the weekend, as Alavés made the trip to Vallecas for a meeting with Rayo Vallecano.
En route to a last-gasp 1-0 defeat, however, the on-loan Real Sociedad man was forced into a premature departure from proceedings.
And after a round of medical tests, Alavés have since announced the extent of Pacheco’s injury across their website and social media platforms:
‘Deportivo Alavés player Jon Pacheco was injured during last Sunday’s match against Rayo Vallecano.
‘Medical tests carried out yesterday confirmed that the footballer has a torn ligament in his left shoulder.
‘The player has begun conservative treatment, and his progress will determine the recovery time.’
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, the 24-year-old – who had spent recent weeks establishing himself as an important figure at Mendizorrotza – is likely to be sidelined ‘for many weeks’.
