Deportivo Alavés are set to be without Tomás Conechny for the coming weeks, and potentially beyond.
This comes after the extent of the head injury suffered by the attacker against Barcelona was made public knowledge.
Conechny was involved in a nasty clash of heads en route to his side’s 1-0 defeat in Catalunya’s capital, which culminated in both he and Barca midfielder Gavi being forced off.
The former was stretchered from the field of play, before being taken to the hospital for a round of medical checks and scans.
And, as alluded to above, on Thursday, the results of as much have been revealed.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:
‘He returned to Vitoria on Monday night after being given the all-clear, but tests revealed that he suffered a severe head injury and a fracture in his frontal bone.’
Conechny, as a result, is facing up to an extended spell away from the pitch.
