La Liga outfit Deportivo Alavés have this weekend announced their first signing of the summer.
The player to have put pen to paper on terms at Mendizorroza? Pablo Ibáñez.
Midfielder Ibáñez has for some time now seen his future prove a prominent talking point in the Spanish media headlines.
This comes after word was forthcoming that the 26-year-old and Osasuna had failed to reach an agreement on the renewal of his expiring contract terms.
Ibáñez, who racked up 28 La Liga appearances this past season, was in turn earmarked as a potential target by a whole host of Spanish clubs.
And as alluded to above, on Monday, one such suitor have announced a deal for the Spaniard.
As per an official statement across the website and social media platforms of Deportivo Alavés:
‘The first face of the new Deportivo Alavés 2025-26 season is Pablo Ibáñez. The club and player have reached an agreement on a contract until 2030. The midfielder arrives from CA Osasuna, where he has played for the last five seasons and where his contract expired this June.’
