Deportivo Alavés ‘have chosen’ Real Madrid youngster as priority signing

The brass at Deportivo Alavés have earmarked an up-and-coming member of the defensive ranks at La Liga rivals Real Madrid as a leading summer transfer target.

That’s according to transfer insider Matteo Moretto, who points towards Youssef Enríquez as the player in question.

Youssef, better known as ‘Yusi’ amongst those of a Real Madrid persuasion, is a 19-year-old defender, who generally operates at left-back.

The youngster has long been considered a potential star of the future in Spain’s capital, lauded particularly for his attacking capabilities.

Yusi was called up for first-team duties by Carlo Ancelotti on a number of occasions this past season, a further testament to his stellar talents.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media on Thursday is anything to go by, then such abilities are now beginning to pique attentions across the La Liga landscape.

As per a report from journalist Matteo Moretto:

‘Youssef Enríquez is the player Alavés have chosen to reinforce the left-back position. The Real Madrid Castilla player (2005) is a footballer with great potential and is already a Moroccan international.’

With Yusi unlikely to lock down a consistent spot in the first-team XI at the Santiago Bernabéu any time soon, Real Madrid are expected to be open to the possibility of a sale, albeit whilst keeping control of the defender’s long-term future.
