An update on the ongoing transfer saga linking Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries with a move to La Liga champions Barcelona has on Tuesday been forthcoming online.
The info comes courtesy of transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who confirms that, as of this moment, Barcelona are not actively pursuing a deal.
The name of wing-back Dumfries has of course emerged as a prominent one in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over recent weeks.
This comes after widespread reports were forthcoming, suggesting that Deco and co. were giving real consideration to a move for the Dutchman’s signing.
Dumfries’ Inter Milan release clause was slashed to just €25 million for the first half of July, making him, at the time, something of a market opportunity.
With this clause having since expired, however, as alluded to above, Barcelona’s interest appears to have faded.
As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano:
‘Understand Barcelona are not in active talks to sign Denzel Dumfries. The case has gone quiet since June.’
