Barcelona sporting director Deco has provided an insight into the club’s plans for the winter transfer window.
And the news is likely to come as a source of disappointment for those of a Blaugrana persuasion.
This comes amid confirmation that the Barcelona brass have no intention of reinforcing Hansi Flick’s first-team ranks over the months ahead.
Barca are of course fresh off a much-needed return to winning ways on Saturday.
Following back-to-back defeats heading into the international break, the Spanish champions got things back on track courtesy of a 2-1 downing of Girona.
Post-match, however, the mood was not exactly an upbeat one, after Hansi Flick’s troops struggled their way through the 90 minutes once again.
Amid an early-season injury crisis, calls, in turn, have already begun to mount for fresh blood to be added to Barcelona’s squad for the 2nd half of the term.
As alluded to above, though, if the latest comments on the part of Deco are anything to go by, then no such signings should be expected.
Speaking during an interview with Cadena SER, as cited by Fabrizio Romano, on Sunday, Barcelona’s sporting director and transfer chief confirmed:
“We did everything we wanted and could in the summer transfer market. We have many players to recover. Signing in the winter market is not in our plans.”
