Date, opponent, attendance & more: Barcelona pencil in Camp Nou return fixture

The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona have put in place plans for their return to the Spotify Camp Nou.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have this weekend provided an insight into the situation.

Barcelona’s beloved home ground has of course been undergoing renovations for some time now.

Amid efforts to bring the Camp Nou in line with some of football’s most modern stadiums, the Blaugrana brass green-lighted a major makeover, which will see everything from stands to facilities and fan experience upgraded.

The return of Hansi Flick’s squad to the ground has since been pushed back on a whole host of occasions, albeit with major progress having been made over recent weeks and months.

And as alluded to above, on Saturday, a fresh update on the plans of Joan Laporta and co. has been provided.

As per a report from Sport, Barcelona hope to debut their new-look stadium on August 10th, for the Joan Gamper Trophy.

This fixture will be played against Cesc Fàbregas’ Como, with Barca eyeing a crowd capacity in the region of 35,000.

Several rounds of permits and permissions will be required before the clash can be green-lighted, but the Blaugrana’s long-awaited Camp Nou return, at last, appears to be on track.
