Villarreal midfielder Dani Parejo is likely to be ruled out of action for one month, the Primera club have confirmed.

The 31-year-old suffered an adductor muscle strain towards the end of Sunday’s 2-1 win over Valencia, a match in which Parejo scored a superb goal against his former club.

If he is ruled out of action for the expected period, he could be absent for six games before the November international break, missing three Europa League games against Sivasspor, FK Qarabag, and Maccabi Tel Aviv and LaLiga fixtures with Cádiz, Real Valladolid, and Getafe.
