Dani Olmo: “Barcelona will always be a home for me.”

Dani Olmo gave an interview to Bild, which also appeared in AS.

The 24-year-old revealed that one day he wants to go back to Spain:

“One day I want to go back, it would be great. Spain is my country, my league. My family and friends live there. But I’m not just tied to Spain. The most important thing for me is to play for a club where I feel loved and important. Like here in Leipzig.”

He also discussed the possibility of a return to Barcelona:

“I played there for six years when I was young. It will always be a home for me. Many of my friends from the national team play there.”

Olmo was also asked about whether he would extend his contract at RB Leipzig, which is set to expire in June 2024:

“Right now I’m not thinking about that, only about the next games. We have three competitions ahead of us. Things happen so fast in football, things can change all the time. We won the DFB-Pokal last season and we want to do our best again this season to play for titles again.”
