Chelsea star pokes fun at Lamine Yamal after win over Barcelona: ‘Had him in his pocket’

Chelsea star Robert Sánchez took full advantage of the opportunity to aim a dig at compatriot Lamine Yamal on Tuesday night.

This comes after the 18-year-old struggled in efforts to make a positive impact in Barcelona’s meeting with the Blues.

Drawn on Lamine’s name during a post-match interview with El Chiringuito TV (as cited by Fabrizio Romano), Chelsea no.1 Sánchez responded:

“[Marc] Cucurella has Lamine Yamal in his pocket!”

Though Lamine was far from Barcelona’s worst performer at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, the youngster has nevertheless come in for heavy criticism over the last 24 hours.

As much comes chiefly owing to the fact that he was outperformed by Chelsea counterpart Estêvão.

En route to a 3-0 romp for Enzo Maresca’s hosts in west London, winger Estêvão was responsible for arguably the game’s standout moment.

Cutting in from his berth on the right wing, the Brazilian international danced his way beyond a pair of defenders, before rifling an unstoppable finish beyond Joan García.
