A 2nd member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has made his way onto the transfer radar of Premier League outfit Chelsea.
That’s according to Fichajes, who point towards Marc Bernal as the player in question.
Chelsea of course pushed hard to bring in another member of Hansi Flick’s engine room ranks over the final weeks of the summer transfer window.
As much came after Fermín López was identified as a leading target on the part of Todd Boehly and co.
In the end, no move was forthcoming for the 22-year-old, after Barcelona made clear that Fermín wasn’t for sale.
As alluded to above, though, this stance does not appear to have deterred Chelsea from continuing to fish for talent in Catalunya’s capital.
As per a report from Fichajes:
‘Chelsea have begun to make moves in the market after failing to sign Fermín López and are now turning their attention to Marc Bernal.’
Youngster Bernal, fresh off a return to competitive action following an ACL injury, is also considered highly unlikely to depart the Camp Nou any time soon.
