Premier League giants Chelsea are giving serious consideration to moving ahead with a mid-season move for Barcelona star Marc-André ter Stegen.
That’s according to Sky Sports, as cited by Mundo Deportivo.
Chelsea, it is claimed, are on the lookout for experienced reinforcements between the posts with a view to the 2nd half of the campaign.
The Blues currently have two top candidates on their list, in AC Milan’s Mike Maignan, and the aforementioned Ter Stegen.
In the case of the latter, a short-term loan deal could even be worked out with Barcelona.
It has long been made clear to Ter Stegen – sidelined at present through injury – that he does not feature in the plans of Blaugrana head coach Hansi Flick.
Ahead of next summer’s World Cup, the 33-year-old is therefore aware that he will likely require a winter transfer, to secure much-needed playing time.
And Stamford Bridge, it would appear, could prove to be the landing spot of choice for Ter Stegen.
