Como head coach Cesc Fàbregas was in the buildup to his side’s upcoming meeting with Barcelona drawn on the ongoing transfer links between his side and a member of the first-team ranks in Catalunya’s capital.
The player in question? Iñaki Peña.
The name of goalkeeper Peña has emerged as a prominent one in the media chatter surrounding Como over recent weeks.
This comes amid the understanding that, amid an ongoing search for reinforcements between the posts, the Serie A outfit have earmarked the 26-year-old as a leading target
Peña is of course expected to be on the move before the summer is out, having continued to tumble down the pecking order at Barcelona following the recent arrival of Joan García.
Ahead of his side facing off with the Blaugrana in the Joan Gamper Trophy match on Sunday, the aforementioned Cesc Fàbregas was therefore drawn on Como’s alleged interest in Peña.
And the former Barca midfielder went on to explain:
“I don’t like to talk about the market, but if there’s an opportunity, we’ll see it, we’ll analyze it. I hope all the big players can fit into our dynamic, be competitive.”
