Celta Vigo are just not getting a break regarding injuries this season. Club captain Iago Aspas has been in and out of the injury list, Franco Cervi is currently out and now another name has been added to the list.
This time around it is winger Hugo Álvarez, who has been a key player for Celta so far this season, making 22 appearances in the league and scoring four goals.
The club announced Álvarez’s injury this afternoon, specifying that he is suffering from a knee sprain, but remaining vague about how long he will be out.
Knee sprains usually keep players out for a few weeks, but in extreme cases, players can be out of action for over a month. Fans of Celta will be hoping for good news regarding Álvarez.
Álvarez’s injury has come as a surprise too, he played the full 90 minutes of his side’s 3-2 win against Real Betis at the weekend, even getting an assist.
Now all Celta Vigo can do is hope for good news and a speedy recovery for their 21-year-old star.
