Celta Vigo dealt Domínguez injury blow before Cádiz

La Liga outfit Celta Vigo have this evening been dealt a fresh blow on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that defender Carlos Domínguez has picked up an injury.

Stopper Domínguez, for his part, was forced into a premature departure from Celta’s hard-fought defeat at the hands of Barcelona last weekend.

The 23-year-old, in turn, has since undergone a series of medical scans and checks across the week to date.

And as much has today revealed a muscular issue in Domínguez’s left thigh.

As per an official statement across Celta’s website and social media platforms:

‘Carlos Domínguez’s imaging tests reveal an elongation in the semitendinosus muscle of the left thigh.’

He will, in turn, play no part in Celta’s La Liga relegation showdown with Cádiz this weekend.

As much marks a heavy blow for Rafael Benítez and his squad, with Domínguez having played a pivotal role at the heart of the Celestes’ backline over the course of the last few months.
