La Liga outfit Celta Vigo have this week been dealt a setback on the personnel front. This comes amid confirmation of summer signing Sebastián Cáceres picking up a fitness problem.
Stopper Cáceres for his part took his talents to Galicia early last month, in a late-window move from Mexican side Club América.
The 27-year-old has spent the weeks since settling into his new surroundings in Spain, afforded a pair of starts against Málaga and Racing Santander prior to the international break.
From here, Cáceres departed Vigo to link up with his fellow countryman for friendly fixtures against Japan and South Korea last week.
Whilst training with the Uruguayan squad, however, the defender picked up an injury setback. As per a statement across Celta’s social media platforms on Thursday:
‘The Uruguayan central defender Sebastián Cáceres suffered from pubalgia during a training session with his national team.’
It now remains to be seen if he misses any game time of note as a result…
