Friday was a sad morning at Valdebebas, with Casemiro set to leave the club. The Brazilian said goodbye to his teammates as he prepares to move to Old Trafford.
According to Marca, yesterday many of the players of the current European champions did not know, and did not want to believe, that Casemiro was leaving. A legend of the club, he had said nothing to the majority of the squad.
On Friday morning, Casemiro arrived at Real Madrid’s training ground with considerable notice. After meeting with manager Carlo Ancelotti, a chat in which he explained his reasons to the Italian coach for wanting to leave the club, he chatted with his Madrid teammates.
Club sources say that there was small ceremony for the player and the subject was dealt with naturally and with support for the 30-year-old from the Madrid players. The midfielder then began the session with the squad, but did not complete it.
Madrid face Celta Vigo in La Liga this weekend.
