Carlo Ancelotti tips Real Madrid star to score ‘more than 50 goals’ this season

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has on Wednesday set out a head-turning goalscoring target for a leading member of his attacking ranks.

Real, of course, are fresh off securing the club’s first silverware of the new campaign.

After making the trip to Warsaw for a showdown with Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup, the Spanish champions ultimately emerged on the right side of a 2-0 scoreline.

Federico Valverde was first on target, before, almost as if written in the stars, summer signing Kylian Mbappé marked his debut with a goal of his own.

Getting on the end of a gorgeous Jude Bellingham assist, frontman Mbappé made no mistake with a trademark finish.

Speaking to the media on the back of another special night for his side, the name of Real Madrid’s latest headline signing, in turn, was inevitably put to manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Specifically, Los Blancos’ headmaster was asked if he feels as though Mbappé could score as many as 50 goals this coming season.

Ancelotti, however, is of the opinion that, all going well, the France international could manage even more:

“50 goals? He has the quality to score more than that…”
