Carlo Ancelotti still undecided on two players in his Real Madrid XI to face RB Leipzig

An insight into the selection plans of Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti for the club’s upcoming showdown with RB Leipzig on Wednesday night has been provided.

And the info points towards Ancelotti as having decided on nine members of his starting XI.

As per a report from Diario AS, all of Andriy Lunin, Dani Carvajal, Antonio Rüdiger, Ferland Mendy, Eduardo Camavinga, Federico Valverde, Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo and Vinícius are in line to feature from the off in the 2nd leg of Real’s Champions League Last-16 tie.

This leaves two positions up for grabs – central defence, and central midfield.

As of yet, Los Blancos’ headmaster remains undecided on whether to reintroduce the veteran presence of Nacho to his backline, or continue with the unorthodox but highly effective option of midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni.

And, further forward, the battle for a midfield berth rages on, between Toni Kroos, and Luka Modrić.

The former looks the favourite to get the nod as things stand, but the fine recent form showcased by veteran Modrić could yet see things swing in his favour.

Whatever the case may be, Real Madrid will take to the pitch on Wednesday boasting an XI brimming with quality from top to bottom.
