Carlo Ancelotti labels Real Madrid star ‘irreplaceable’ after display vs Betis

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti was full of praise for one member of his midfield ranks, on the back of the club’s latest outing.

Real, of course, marked their return to action on Sunday night.

Eyeing a return to winning ways after stuttering to a 1-1 stalemate with Las Palmas in midweek, Los Blancos welcomed Real Betis to the Spanish capital, for a La Liga clash.

And, when all was said and done, secure a return to winning ways is precisely what the evening’s hosts managed.

As much came by way of an overdue brace on the part of summer signing Kylian Mbappé, whose two 2nd-half goals proved the difference between the sides upon the full-time whistle bringing proceedings to a close.

Post-match, it therefore came as little surprise when it was the name of the Frenchman which took its place front and centre in the headlines.

During his press conference, however, Carlo Ancelotti was keen to single another member of his squad out as one who he feels could not be replaced by any other player.

The individual in question? Aurélien Tchouaméni.

“Tchouaméni is a fantastic defensive midfielder. He helps our defense a lot. He’s irreplaceable,” Ancelotti concluded.
