‘Brilliant’ – Hansi Flick hails two Barcelona stars after win over Valencia

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has moved to reveal his delight with two members of his squad on the back of the club’s latest outing.

Barcelona, of course, were back in action on Sunday night.

In their post-international break return to the pitch, the Blaugrana welcomed Valencia to Catalunya’s capital for a La Liga clash.

When all was said and done, the reigning Spanish champions ran riot, to the tune of an eventual 6-0 triumph.

Post-match, it was in turn Barca’s attacking stars who took the majority of the plaudits.

Each of Fermín López, Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski found the back of the net twice over the course of the 90 minutes.

Speaking to the media in the game’s aftermath, though, it was two of his players at the other end of the pitch whom Hansi Flick was keen to single out for praise:

“Eric García and Cubarsí performed brilliantly at the heart of the defense, the midfield as well. I’m happy because we played as we did last season, and that’s a good thing.”
