Breakthrough Real Madrid talent scores in behind-closed-doors friendly victory

Xabi Alonso’s Real Madrid on Friday ramped up preparations for the new campaign, by way of a friendly outing in the Spanish capital.

And en route to an eventual 4-1 triumph for Los Blancos, a breakthrough academy talent continued to turn heads.

The player in question? Thiago Pitarch.

Midfielder Pitarch has for his part taken his place centre stage in the chatter surrounding Real Madrid over recent days.

This comes after the 18-year-old was afforded a call-up to first-team training at Valdebebas.

Pitarch, during these sessions, did enough to convince boss Xabi Alonso to afford him a place in the club’s matchday squad for a behind-closed-doors friendly meeting with Leganés on Friday, too.

And as alluded to above, the Spaniard again took full advantage of the opportunity afforded to him.

As revealed by Real Madrid insider Javier Rodríguez Pascual, Pitarch was amongst the goalscorers in a 4-1 win for Los Merengues on the day.
