Bayern Munich star Dayot Upamecano has moved to shut down the ongoing speculation linking teammate and fellow countryman Michael Olise with a move to Real Madrid.
Wide-man Olise has of course seen his name dominate the headlines in Spain’s capital for several weeks now.
This comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that those in a position of power at the Bernabéu have identified the former Crystal Palace talent as a leading summer transfer target.
Bayern Munich, for their part, have repeatedly insisted that Olise is not for sale at any price, adamant that their attacking star will be going nowhere ahead of next season.
And this weekend, a leading member of Vincent Kompany’s squad has reiterated the same message.
Drawn on his teammate’s future during an exchange with the media in the aftermath of France’s victory over Paraguay at the World Cup on Saturday night, Dayot Upamecano assured:
“He’s staying!”
