La Liga giants Barcelona are facing up to fresh competition in the race for the signature of Hoffenheim talent Fisnik Asllani.
That’s according to German transfer insider Florian Plettenberg, who has confirmed that Bayern Munich have positioned themselves in the running for the attacker.
The Bavarians, it is understood, are on the lookout for a backup for Harry Kane with a view to next season.
And Asllani, in the midst of an impressive opening to the new campaign on the books of Hoffenheim, is amongst the profiles being taken into consideration.
News of as much will mark a source of concern for those in the boardroom at Spanish champions Barcelona.
Asllani has also made his way firmly onto the transfer radar of the Camp Nou brass of late, viewed as a potential long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
If forced to go head to head with Bayern over a deal, however, Barca are aware that they are unlikely to be capable of competing from a financial standpoint.
