Bayern Munich ready to reunite Zinedine Zidane with ex-Real Madrid defender

An insight into the summer plans of the powers that be at German heavyweights Bayern Munich has come to the fore on Sunday.

And the news points towards the Bavarians’ intentions for next season being heavily influenced by past ongoings at none other than Real Madrid.

First on the agenda, of course, comes sourcing a replacement for the outbound Thomas Tuchel in the dugout.

And according to Marca, front and centre on the priority list is ex-Real boss Zinedine Zidane.

After seeing their pursuit of first-choice target Xabi Alonso fail to bear fruit, Bayern have turned their attentions firmly towards Zidane, out of work since bringing his 2nd managerial stint in Madrid to a close back in 2021.

And, as a first order of business in the case of convincing the Frenchman to pen terms at the Allianz Arena, the Bundesliga outfit would then move to reunite Zidane with a player with whom he is altogether familiar.

The individual in question? Miguel Gutiérrez.

Full-back Gutiérrez, for his part, broke onto the scene at Real Madrid under the watch of none other than Zidane, back in 2021.

And though he has since been moved on to Girona, Gutiérrez is said to be held in altogether high regard by his former headmaster.

With Alphonso Davies on his way out of Bavaria, the 22-year-old has been identified as the leading target to replace him, a move which would no doubt be welcomed by Zidane.
