A former member of the attacking ranks at German heavyweights Bayern Munich has admitted that, this past summer, he would have been more than willing to listen to an offer by way of Barcelona.
The player in question? Thomas Müller.
Frontman Müller is for his part of course fresh off bringing a close to his legendary stint on the books of Bayern Munich.
After spending the entirety of his career plying his trade in Bavaria, the 36-year-old departed as a free agent following the expiration of his contract.
Müller, in turn, went on to pen terms with MLS outfit the Vancouver Whitecaps, since enjoying a fine start to life in Canada.
As alluded to above, though, had things played out differently, the 131-time capped German international could have envisioned himself plying his club trade in Spain.
Speaking during an appearance in front of the media, as cited by Vibes Foot, on Monday, Müller admitted that he was open to reuniting with former boss Hansi Flick at Barcelona:
“If Hansi Flick, who knows me very well, had called me and I would have liked the project in Barcelona, I could have imagined something like that. Barça is a first-class club, you know what people expect of you.”
