Two of the most highly-regarded young talents at La Liga giants Barcelona were the subjects of a transfer approach on the part of Bayern Munich back in 2022.
That’s according to Diario Sport, citing German outlet BILD, who point towards Gavi and Lamine Yamal as the pair in question.
Bayern, it is understood, sent a delegation to Catalunya’s capital three years ago, in an effort to convince the players, and their families, to make the move to Germany.
Specifically, Hasan Salihamidžić, then-sporting director at the Allianz Arena, sat down for a meeting with agent Iván de la Peña.
De la Peña at the time represented both Gavi and Lamine, and continues to act as the spokesperson for the former.
The Bayern brass, however, were met with a firm response: no.
Neither midfielder Gavi nor winger Lamine had any interest in departing Barcelona, stances which remain intact to this day.
