La Liga giants Barcelona intend to kick the club’s pre-season campaign into gear with this summer’s World Cup still up and running.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Friday provided an insight into the situation.
Barca, of course, are fresh off clinching a 2nd successive La Liga title, to add to a Spanish Super Cup crown won earlier in the year.
Hansi Flick’s squad have since spread across Europe and beyond, for a combination of World Cup preparations, and well-earned vacations.
The date pencilled in for the latter group to return to work, though, will come with some of their club teammates likely still in action on the international stage.
As per a report from Sport:
‘On July 13, Barça’s preseason will start with the World Cup still underway. The semifinals (14 and 15) and the match for third and fourth place and the final (18 and 19) will remain to be played.’
Those members of the Blaugrana’s ranks who advance deep into the World Cup will not be expected back in Catalunya’s capital until at least the 2nd week of August.
