Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal responds to racist abuse from Real Madrid fans

Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has issued a response to the abuse aimed in his direction by sections of Real Madrid supporters this past weekend.

This comes after a string of videos were forthcoming online, highlighting the disgusting verbal tirades which the 17-year-old was subjected to during the season’s first El Clásico.

Spanish international Lamine proved himself a star performer on Saturday, as Barcelona ran riot in Madrid.

En route to an eventual 4-0 Blaugrana triumph, the gifted winger notched his side’s 3rd, courtesy of a brilliant near-post finish.

After wheeling away to celebrate, however, Lamine was the target of a wave of racially-motivated insults from the stands at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Speaking to the media at the Ballon d’Or ceremony early this week, the subject of as much was, in turn, put to the gifted winger.

And Lamine showcased composure beyond his tender years in his response, explaining:

“I’m the one on the pitch, I’m only focused on the pitch”. “The fans saying nonsense doesn’t matter to me.”
