Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal breaks Real Madrid legend’s all-time record vs Espanyol

Barcelona star Lamine Yamal on Saturday secured for himself a fresh piece of Spanish football history.

This came owing to his appearance in the Blaugrana’s latest outing.

Hansi Flick’s troops were back in action a short time ago, locking horns with Espanyol in the latest edition of the Catalan Derby.

The aforementioned Lamine featured from the off in the matchup, from his customary spot on the right wing.

And in the process, the attacker etched his name into the history books once more.

As per a report from statisticians Opta, Lamine has broken Real Madrid icon Raúl González’s record, to become the youngest player ever to reach 100 La Liga appearances (18y 272d).

Lamine went on to prove himself the star performer in the derby, laying on a pair of assists before adding his name to the scoresheet late on.

Such exploits gave rise to a 4-1 Barcelona triumph, sending the reigning Spanish champions nine points clear atop the La Liga table.
