Barcelona star Gavi has taken to social media, to show his support for friend and recent teammate João Cancelo.
This of course comes after the former’s Spain sent Cancelo and Portugal packing from the World Cup at the Last-16 stage on Monday evening.
Cancelo for his part featured from the off in the fixture, seeing out the bulk of the 90 minutes as Spain emerged on the right side of a 1-0 result.
The full-back – who spent the 2nd half of this past season plying his trade on loan with Barcelona – was left looking understandably disheartened following the full-time whistle in Arlington.
Gavi, on the other hand, looked nothing short of jubilant ahead of an upcoming World Cup quarter-final clash with Belgium.
Post-match, the latter therefore took to his official Instagram account, to send a message of support and well wishes the way of Cancelo.
Alongside a photo of the pair embracing, Gavi wrote:
