La Liga giants Barcelona have already wrapped up a deal for the first high-profile summer addition to the club’s first-team squad.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards the player all set to take his talents to Catalunya’s capital as coming in the form of Guido Rodríguez.
Midfielder Guido has of course seen his name take its place front and centre in the media headlines in Barcelona for several weeks now.
As much comes after confirmation was forthcoming on the part of a host of sources that negotiations over the terms of a pre-contract had been kicked firmly into gear between the parties.
This comes ahead of the expiration of the Argentine’s deal with La Liga rivals Real Betis.
And, if the latest word doing the rounds on Monday is anything to go by, then such discussions have already borne definitive fruit.
As per the aforementioned Sport, an agreement has been in place between Barca sporting director Deco and Guido’s entourage since the last international break.
The accord in question formalised the intent of all parties to join forces in the summer.
With a contract having been drawn up, all that remains is for the signatures to be added upon the season’s close.
