Barcelona starlet Tommy Marqués was afforded his latest opportunity to impress at senior level on Saturday.
This came by way of a spot in training alongside the rest of Hansi Flick’s squad.
Tommy was for his part called up to first-team duties for the very first time at the Ciutat Esportiva late last month.
At the time, as much was viewed as something of a birthday present, after the deep-lying midfielder turned 19 years of age.
The understanding now, however, is that Tommy is in fact considered a potential future first-team star in the making.
The Spaniard, it is said, thoroughly impressed Hansi Flick and his staff with the level of his performances in training.
And as alluded to above, this weekend, such efforts culminated in Tommy being rewarded once more.
As per a report from Blaugrana insider Sergi Capdevila:
‘Tommy Marqués is training this Saturday with the first team. The pivot is a club bet.’
With both Gavi and Pedri sidelined long-term, it is not out of the question that Tommy could therefore be afforded a maiden senior matchday call-up by Barcelona over the weeks ahead.
