Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick afforded a chance to impress to an up-and-coming member of the club’s defensive setup on Saturday.
The player in question? Patrício Pacífico.
Pacífico, for those not familiar with his name, is a 19-year-old defender, who chiefly lines out at left-back.
The youngster arrived at Barcelona during the winter transfer window, on loan from Uruguayan outfit Defensor Sporting.
The deal is understood to feature an option to buy in the summer.
And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from Catalunya’s capital this weekend is anything to go by, then Pacífico is evidently making a positive impression with his form at reserve level.
This comes amid confirmation on the part of Jijantes that the South American was called up to first-team training by Hansi Flick at the Ciutat Esportiva this morning.
It now remains to be seen if as much is followed by a place in Barcelona’s squad to face Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.
