Barcelona starlet Xavi Espart looks set to miss the next two months of the season through injury.
This comes after the defender suffered a setback whilst training with Barca Atlètic.
The name of youngster Espart has of course taken its place centre stage in the media chatter in Catalunya’s capital over recent weeks.
Amid the ongoing injury problems in Hansi Flick’s Blaugrana squad, the 18-year-old has been rewarded for his excellence at youth level with a string of first-team call-ups.
With Jules Koundé continuing to struggle for form, Espart, it is widely understood, was closing in on his senior debut.
If the latest word stemming from Barcelona this weekend is anything to go by, however, then any such appearance will have to wait…
As per a report from Diario Sport:
‘Xavi Espart suffered an injury during training and will be out of the field for about two months.’
The young right-back, who was preparing for Barca Atlètic’s upcoming meeting with Espanyol B, has picked up an issue in his right knee.
