An up-and-coming member of the midfield ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona has this week committed his long-term future to the club.
This comes amid the understanding that Pedro Rodríguez has agreed to put pen to paper on a new contract in Catalunya’s capital through the summer of 2030.
Pedro, namesake of Barcelona’s iconic former attacker, is an 18-year-old midfielder who currently plies his trade with Juliano Belletti’s Barca Atlètic.
The Spaniard is capable of filling a number of roles in the middle of the park, hailed for his versatility and technical qualities alike.
Considered one of the standout young talents in Barcelona at present, it has therefore long represented a source of concern for those behind the scenes at the Camp Nou that Pedro’s contract terms are due to expire next summer.
As alluded to above, though, this week, a breakthrough is understood to have been made in negotiations between the two parties. As per a report from journalist Nil Sola:
‘Barça have sealed Pedro Rodríguez’s renewal for 4 more seasons. The youth team player, one of the greatest talents of his generation, was set to end his contract this June and has turned down significant offers.’
