Recently-departed Barcelona starlet Eman Košpo has on Wednesday provided an insight into the reasoning behind his decision to move on.
The name of youngster Košpo has taken its place centre stage in the chatter in Catalunya’s capital over the last 24 hours.
This comes after the surprise speculation linking the 18-year-old with a move to Italy with Fiorentina were confirmed.
As per a statement across the social media platforms of La Viola, Košpo has joined the club on a permanent basis:
Barcelona’s decision to part with their young defender came as nothing short of a shock to the club’s supporters.
Košpo, for his part, was considered one of the standout up-and-coming talents in La Masia, and played a starring role en route to the Blaugrana’s U19s securing a historic treble this past season.
If the farewell message unveiled by the Swiss on Wednesday is anything to go by, though, then those behind the scenes at the Camp Nou appear to have been left with little choice.
Taking to his official Instagram account, Košpo unveiled a lengthy goodbye post to the Barca faithful.
And at one point in as much, the stopper makes clear that he has been ‘offered a great project by a big club’, which left him ‘really impressed’.
The understanding is that Košpo has been promised senior playing time in Florence, which may have proven altogether tough to come by in Hansi Flick’s star-studded Barcelona squad.
