Barcelona youngster expected to miss 4 months through injury

A highly-regarded up-and-coming member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona could be set to miss as long as four months through injury.

That’s according to journalist Sergi Capdevila of Diario Sport, who highlights Víctor Barberá as the player in question.

Barberá, for his part, is a 21-year-old attacker, who chiefly operates at centre-forward.

The Spaniard is in the midst of an altogether impressive opening to the campaign to date, on the books of Barca Atlètic.

Recent weeks have proven particularly productive for Barberá, who found the net four times in his last two appearances.

In turn, it will no doubt come as a blow for club and player alike to learn of the youngster being set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.

As per a report from the aforementioned Sergi Capdevila:

‘Víctor Barberá will have to undergo surgery due to a tear in the anterior rectus. The striker may be sidelined for more than four months.’
