La Liga champions Barcelona are progressing towards a deal for Manchester United star Marcus Rashford.
That’s according to Spanish football journalist Jorge C Picon, who has this weekend provided an update on the Blaugrana’s ongoing efforts to add to their options out wide.
First, fresh clarification is forthcoming that, as things stand, a deal for Liverpool’s Luis Díaz looks altogether unlikely:
‘The signing of Luis Díaz by Barcelona is, at this point, financially unfeasible.’
This comes despite the fact that the Colombian himself would be nothing short of ‘thrilled’ to seal a Camp Nou switch.
Shifting focus towards alternative target Rashford, though, the outlook is of a more encouraging nature.
Versatile frontman Rashford is widely expected to be on the move before the summer is out, no longer in the plans of those in a position of power at Manchester United.
And according to Jorge C Picon:
‘Barcelona’s signing of Rashford is progressing. It is being handled by Arturo Canales, a trusted agent of the club. This is a much more financially feasible operation, and the player also views the move favourably.’
