La Liga champions Barcelona were the subject of abusive chants prior to the Ballon d’Or ceremony getting underway on Monday night.
This came upon the arrival of the Blaugrana delegation.
Hansi Flick’s squad was of course represented by a number of high-profile stars at the ‘Golden Ball’ gala yesterday evening.
This group included star attackers Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, who finished 2nd and 5th respectively in the Ballon d’Or standings.
Club president Joan Laporta, as well as Women’s Ballon d’Or holder Aitana Bonmatí and several leading board members made their way to France’s capital of Paris, too.
As alluded to above, though, upon their arrival at The Théâtre du Châtelet, Barcelona were not exactly met with a warm welcome.
Instead, chants of ‘Puta Barca! Puta Barca! (F**k Barca) were directed at the Spanish champions by the crowd in attendance:
