La Liga giants Barcelona have made first contact over a potential reunion with a former member of the club’s backline.
That’s according to market insider Fabrizio Romano, who highlights João Cancelo as the player in question.
Full-back Cancelo is for his part widely expected to be on the move following the turn of the year.
As his contract with Saudi outfit Al-Hilal continues to wind down, the Portuguese international is eyeing a return to Europe, most likely on a loan deal.
With as much in mind, three of his ex-employers have already touched base with Cancelo’s entourage over a potential winter deal.
As per a report from Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona have joined Italian heavyweights Juventus and Inter Milan in the hunt for the 31-year-old.
In the case of the Blaugrana, it is also noted that:
‘Barcelona had contact in the last 48 hours. Informed about the opportunity but Financial Fair Play must be considered as a key point.’
