Barcelona ‘very close’ to Hamza Abdelkarim signing

La Liga champions Barcelona are on the verge of tying up the signing of a highly-regarded up-and-coming striker.

That’s according to Diario AS, who highlight Hamza Abdelkarim as the player in question.

As per the report, unveiled on Thursday:

‘Barcelona are very close to finalising the signing of Hamza Abdelkarim. Negotiations are at an advanced stage, but not yet completely finalised.’

Abdelkarim, for his part, is a 17-year-old attacker, who chiefly lines out at centre-forward, but is also capable of taking to the pitch from the right wing.

The starlet has long been turning heads in his home country of Egypt, owing to his exploits on both the international stage, and at club level.

Despite his tender years, Abdelkarim has already established himself in the first-team setup at Al Ahly.

Whilst lining out for Egypt’s U17s, meanwhile, the frontman has racked up a head-turning 12 goals in 17 appearances to date.

Such exploits are understood to have piqued the interest of a whole host of leading clubs from across Europe.

After Abdelkarim himself made clear his desire to join Barcelona, though, the Blaugrana look set to secure his signing during the January transfer window.
