Barcelona training reiterates one youngster’s importance in plans of Hansi Flick

The latest training session held by La Liga giants Barcelona on Friday reiterated the central place of one particular youngster in the plans of manager Hansi Flick.

The player in question? Jofre Torrents.

Defender Torrents of course took his place front and centre in the headlines surrounding Barcelona last weekend.

This came after the starlet, still just 18, was afforded his senior competitive bow.

En route to Barca’s opening day La Liga victory over RCD Mallorca, Torrents was introduced to proceedings during the 2nd-half.

And ahead of the Blaugrana’s gameweek 2 meeting with Levante, Hansi Flick has hinted once more at his belief in the talents of his breakthrough left-back.

As confirmed by Diario Sport:

‘Of the five Barça Atlètic youngsters who have been with the seniors since day one of pre-season (Toni, Guille, Dro, Bardghji and Jofre himself), only he was exempt from playing the friendly match that the reserve team played against Atlètic Lleida behind closed doors.’

As much came with Torrents having been busy plying his trade in senior training, ahead of being called up to face Levante this weekend.
