Barcelona to delay transfer talks with Liverpool as show of respect

The brass at La Liga champions Barcelona are planning to delay their upcoming efforts to bring in Liverpool star Luis Díaz.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Sunday provided an insight into the situation.

The name of wide-man Díaz is of course now very much back on the agenda at Barcelona.

After the Blaugrana were rejected at the last by chief attacking transfer target Nico Williams, Deco and co. are now expected to pivot back towards the signing of the Colombian international.

Díaz remains held in high regard by those behind the scenes at the Camp Nou, considered an ideal fit in Hansi Flick’s all-out attacking setup.

As alluded to above, though, despite their eagnerness to work out a deal for the former Porto man, Deco and co. intend to hold off on approaching Liverpool for the time being.

This comes to show respect to the Reds following the tragic passing of Diogo Jota.

As per a report from Sport:

‘Barça are clear that they must let a few days, perhaps weeks, pass to try to make progress in the signing of Luis Díaz.’
