La Liga champions Barcelona have this week been credited with an interest in the signature of a member of the defensive ranks at Borussia Dortmund.
The player in question? Nico Schlotterbeck.
Stopper Schlotterbeck is for his part understood to be giving consideration to a move away from Signal Iduna Park.
The German international, it is claimed, is keen to join a club where he has a better chance of securing silverware.
With as much in mind, Bayern Munich are keeping a close eye on the situation of the 25-year-old.
As alluded to above, though, so too are those behind the scenes at Spanish heavyweights Barcelona.
As per a report from transfer insider Adrian Sanchez of Más Que Pelotas, Deco and co. consider Schlotterbeck an attractive profile to reinforce the heart of Hansi Flick’s defence.
The former Freiburg talent is due to see his contract terms with Dortmund expire in the summer of 2027, meaning he could be available for a cut-price fee next summer.
Added to Schlotterbeck’s stellar talents in and out of possession alike, Barca could in turn launch a move for his signature in 2026.
