Widespread sections of the fanbase at La Liga giants Barcelona have on Thursday evening been forced to eat their words.
This comes after Marcus Rashford nothing short of exploded into life in Blaugrana colours.
Barcelona are of course currently locked in action on the continent.
In the club’s Champions League season opener, the Blaugrana have made the trip to England, for a meeting with Newcastle United.
And as things stand late on at St. James’ Park, it is the aforementioned Rashford who looks set to call himself match-winner.
After a difficult first-half on Thursday, the summer arrival in Spain was actually singled out for heavy criticism on the part of Barca’s supporters.
Many went as far as to state outright that the Englishman is not of the level required to line out for the club.
After the interval, though, Rashford wasted little time in silencing such critics.
After first producing a fine header to open the evening’s scoring, the on-loan Manchester United man then conjured up a moment of absolute brilliance, directing a stunning strike from distance home off the underside of the crossbar.
Blaugrana take note, Marcus Rashford has arrived!
