A member of the summer recruitment drive at La Liga giants Barcelona could be afforded a starting berth in the club’s upcoming season opener against RCD Mallorca.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Marcus Rashford as the player in question.
Frontman Rashford is for his part of course fresh off being afforded his first-ever starting berth in Barcelona colours.
As much came on Sunday night, in the annual edition of the Joan Gamper Trophy match against Como.
En route to an eventual 5-0 Blaugrana rout, Rashford for the most part impressed, with a fine assist for attacking partner Raphinha the highlight of his showing.
And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media on Monday is anything to go by, then such endeavours on the part of the Englishman could well be rewarded this weekend.
As per a report from Sport, with Robert Lewandowski sidelined, and Ferran Torres struggling with fatigue, Rashford will act as Barcelona’s starting centre-forward against Mallorca this weekend in the case of the latter not being declared fully fit.
