Barcelona still ‘considering’ late-window move for Monaco star

La Liga champions Barcelona are continuing to mull over a move for a member of the defensive ranks at French outfit AS Monaco.

That’s according to ESPN, who point towards Vanderson as the player in question.

Right-back Vanderson, for his part, has been linked with Barcelona on a whole host of occasions in the past.

As much comes with the seven-time capped Brazilian international understood to be held in high regard by those in the Camp Nou boardroom.

To date, no Blaugrana swoop has been forthcoming, owing chiefly to the long-standing financial troubles in Catalunya’s capital.

But as alluded to above, days out from the summer transfer deadline, Vanderson’s name remains underlined in red by Deco and his team of directors.

As per a report from ESPN:

‘Monaco full-back Vanderson is one of the options being considered by Barcelona before the transfer window closes.’

A move for the 24-year-old would only become a realistic possibility in the case of a sale being sanctioned by Barca, amid ongoing speculation linking Fermín López with a Premier League switch.
