Barcelona star Wojciech Szczęsny is yet to provide the club with a definitive answer regarding the question of his future for next season.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Thursday provided an insight into the situation.
Goalkeeper Szczęsny of course put pen to paper on terms with Barcelona late in 2024, following the long-term injury suffered by Blaugrana no.1 Marc-André ter Stegen.
And the 34-year-old wasted little time in making his presence felt, usurping Iñaki Peña as the new first-choice between the posts in Hansi Flick’s squad, en route to playing a central role in the club’s domestic treble.
Szczęsny stepped out of retirement to link up with his new club, after being released by Juventus last summer.
So impressive were his performances, that the Camp Nou brass recently sent a contract renewal offer the way of the Pole, for next season.
As alluded to above, though, as of yet, he has not responded to as much.
As per a report from Sport:
‘Although everything indicates that he will continue one more season at Barça, the Pole has not yet signed and his future is still open.’
